1958 Volkswagen Bug

FOR SALE

574- 848- 7544

This 1958 VW bug is from California. I purchased it about four years ago, in Indianapolis, just after it arrived from California. I drove it home from there with no troubles. The speedometer had been reset to zero, because of an engine rebuild, preformed before I bought it. This car had 200 miles on the speedometer when I bought it. This is a 1600 Dual Port engine. It has an EMPI Header Single exhaust and a A Header Muffler, which has a nice Growl to it. Not load, but makes it sound throaty.

The paint is in decent condition. Has a nice shine. It is not a prefect car, but it’s probably one of the better ones around. We took it to a few car shows and brought home some trophies with it.

Tires are in good condition. The spare is not. I have three spare rims that go with it.

After getting it home, we decided to make some changes in it and repair some things that did not get done. We replaced the seat covers and door and rear side panels. New carpet. Changed to a newer year front seats, as the others were in bad shape. Replaced the radio. I replaced the master cylinder with a newer year master cylinder. Replaced brake lines and the rear drums. Put new king pins and bushings in it. The front end needs to be aligned. Bought new stainless trim for the outside. It’s still in the box. Replaced the rear axle grease boots. Bought new engine heat shields, which have not been put on.

Carburetor has been rebuilt and replaced the float. New voltage regulator and had the generator rebuilt by a local repair shop that rebuilds starters and generators.
